Quarterbacking


Throwing motion


1.put your wait onto your back foot

2.cock your arm straight back

3.shift your wait fowards as you bring the ball up

4. realese the ball as high as possible to get it over oposing defenders

Handing off

1.take the ball into your belly

2.run to the running back

3.hand the ball to him using one or both hands

The playaction pass

1.take the ball into your belly

2.run away from the line on a backwards 45 degree angle

3.show the running back your empty hand

4.stand tall and throw the ball

The option play

1.take the snap if the tackle (or linbacker depending on the defense) pinches down keep the ball

2.run along the line, if the end goes for you flip the ball to the Half Back, if not keep it

Running back

There are two main types of running back:

Power back

A power back is a strong big runner who usualy get the ball in the inside. Examples of power runners would be Earl Cambell or John Riggins.A power runner is usually tuff.

Speed back

A speed back is a fast runner who usualy run to the outside.Examples of speed runners are Walter Payton and Tony Dorsett.A good speed runner usually posseses the ability to juke there defenders.
